Rules

The current Magic: The Gathering rules are in use, with the following exceptions:

  • The official mulligan procedure is London
Draw seven cards every time you mulligan. When you are satisfied, you put a card back on the bottom of your library for each time you have mulliganed. No scrying.
  • The “mana burn” rule still exists
Each unused mana at the end of each phase (not step) does 1 damage to his owner as the mana pool is emptied.
  • Players lose the game when they have zero or less life only at the end of each phase. This state based action is the last thing happening before going to the next phase.
This rule allows playing “Mirror Universe” in its original spirit, so you can go down to zero during your upkeep, trade life totals, then your opponent dies at the end of the phase for being at zero.
  • The original Alpha ‘tapped blocker’ rule still exists
If a creature designated as a blocker in a combat phase becomes tapped, it will not do damage to the attacking creature.
For exemple, a blocking Mishra’s Factory will become 0/3 if tapped for activating his +1/+1 hability.

Precisions

  • The original “Ante” Rule is strictly forbidden as it falls under Wagering under the Magic Infraction and Procedure Guide, for which the penalty is a disqualification.
  • There is no difference between “Interrupts” and “Instants”. All “Interrupts” are considered as “Instants”.

Miscellaneous cards adjustments

Cards have their current Oracle text, as found on http://gatherer.wizards.com/ with the following exceptions :

Chaos Orb

Card text
1, Tap: Choose a non-token permanent on the battlefield. If Chaos Orb is on the battlefield, flip Chaos Orb onto the battlefield from a height of at least one foot (30cm). If Chaos Orb turns over completely at least 360 degrees during the flip, and lands resting on the chosen permanent, destroy that permanent. Then destroy Chaos Orb.

Falling Star

Card text
Choose any number of non-overlapping creatures on the battlefield. Flip Falling Star onto the battlefield from a height of at least one foot (30cm). If Falling Star turns over completely at least 360 degrees during the flip, it deals 3 damage to each chosen creature it lands resting on.. Any creatures damaged by Falling Star that are not destroyed become tapped.

Precisions for Chaos Orb and Falling Star

You are allowed to move and rearrange the choosen permanent or creatures onto the battlefiel for flipping.

Sleeves counts as parts of the cards.

If for any reason (for exemple a difference of level due to a playmat), Chaos Orb or Falling Star are over the choosen permanents (vertically), but without touching them, the action will be considered as successful.
